The Way of the Wilderking

Warning! This review covers the third book in the Wilderking Trilogy, so there may be spoilers for the first book, The Bark of the Bog Owl as well as the second one. Haven’t read the series yet? My review for the first one is below:
Personal Review:
I truly enjoyed this series, but this book…this book just completely blew the other two away. It was a perfect conclusion, tying together all the events of the previous books with poignance and creativity.
The setting is so vividly described and is quite possibly the most immersive part of the story.
I love the Feechies and the humor they bring to the series! Now that we’re on the topic of characters, Aidan’s father is by far my favorite of the series. Once you read the series, I think you’ll realize why, but to tell you now would spoil it entirely. Next in line, however, would be Aidan himself. He’s so mature and wise beyond his years!
Finally, the aspect I can’t stress enough is the anthem of “living the life that unfolds before you.” It resounds throughout the series, but in this installment, the point is driven home beautifully. Note, it the quote’s not “live your best life” or something to that effect because life isn’t always fair. But instead, the message is to faithfully travel the path ahead of you. Even when it’s hard or it’s not fair. Even when it’s uncomfortable or you’d rather have moved past this stage of your life by now. And that’s a reminder that spoke to me as I read this series.
These books may be short, but they are powerful. There’s nothing inappropriate, so I would heartily recommend it for any age!
